Advanced Placements

Year 9 students may be offered Advanced Placement (VCE or VET) subjects for Year 10. This process is of the following:

• Students complete their Career Action Plan in ASPIRE, entering three subjects they wish to study as an Advanced Placement

• Head of Faculties discuss with current teachers of student for approval. This is based on work habits, attendance, aptitude and current achievements in relevant subjects.

• Once reviewed, the pathways team will notify students for their subjects offered.

When selecting an Advanced Placement, please note this counts as two semester subjects. Students will also be expected to follow the Brentwood Senior School Handbook.

Note that you cannot select Mathematical Methods in Year 10 unless you were studying Enrichment Mathematics in Year 9.
